What is Endometriosis?

According to Endometriosis Australia (2019), endometriosis is a common disease in which the tissue that is similar to the lining of the womb grows outside it in other parts of the body.

1 in 10 women are affected by endometriosis at some point in their lifetime – Endometriosis Australia (2019).

Whilst endometriosis most often affects the reproductive organs, it is frequently found in the bowel and bladder.

Endometriosis can be very painful and debilitating to anyone who is experiencing it.

How can your workplace help to raise awareness?

Host a tea (virtually in covid times) to raise money for the debilitating and incurable disease. According to Endometriosis Australia, the best way to have more research undertaken for treatments and a cure is to raise profile of this disease with governments, the medical community and the general public.
